Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Search Engine Optimization is the process of drawing more traffic to a website by means of search engines (google, yahoo, msn, etc.). Search engines use what are called "crawlers" or "spiders" to examine the code and content of a website to determine what kind of site it is, as well as where it should be placed in a list of search results. There are many parts to the process of SEO. Things like keyword density, page structure, sitemaps, and linking are crucial to the visibility and success of a website. When a search engine examines a web page, it looks for keywords and different tags built into the code. Having proper and sufficient placement of these keywords and key phrases in the code is almost a form of art. Sitemaps and friendly page navigation help the crawlers make their way through the site and find important information. Whenever I build a website from the ground up or work on an existing site, I always work to improve the SEO of the site by altering the layout of the content or the page structure. I also use search engine submission tools that get the crawlers to your site faster and help draw in business. SEO is vital to the success of a website, because having the best website design and layout doesn't do you any good if no one can find it. Back to services | ![]() |
